Frequently asked questions
CHOOSING A NECKLACE
HOW DO I DECIDE ON MY FIRST LRR PURCHASE?
We want your shopping experience to be fun! Screenshots are your friend! We suggest viewing all the photos of the available necklaces on our website or our instagram posts. Take note of which looks or styles give you an emotional reaction or make your heart flutter! Using screenshots, create a photo album in your phone to refer to them.
Think about your end goal. Do I want something for a special occasion? Something I can wear daily with my entire wardrobe? Something low-key that blends in with my daily styling or something that will elevate a look or add color to it? Maybe a necklace that will help me get through my day? So many options with LRR!
Once you have collected your favorites, we suggest picking your top 3. You’re welcome to share them with us and we can help you decide! To find your first purchase, we recommend going with the one that you can wear the most often, but that also has a special meaning to you. How will you know? You’ll feel it!!
HOW DO I FIGURE OUT MY IDEAL LENGTH?
Measure your favorite existing necklace or bracelet. Reference one that has a similar proportion to the LRR you have your eye on. For example, measuring a fine flat chain is going to be different outcome than measuring a string of chunky pearls. Look in the mirror to see if you like where it hits you or if you want it a little longer or shorter. Think about your favorite existing jewelry and consider the option of pairing it with a LRR. This should help you come up with a length range, such as 16-18” or 17.5-19”. Most LRR jewelry has to be closed using a connector, this will add between 1/8” and 1/2” depending on the one you own or need. Factor this into your desired length range.
Another consideration is your neck girth, length and clothing necklines. Do you like to wear low cut tops, v necks, or crew necks, for example. You’ll want a necklace that hits either below or above those necklines. Layering your LRR with your existing jewelry and staggering it is always nice.
If you’re considering 2 LRR’s, we like to recommend them being approximately 1.75-2” apart at least. We hope this helps!!
HOW DO I FIGURE OUT IF I WANT AN LRR CHUNKY OR A MINI CHUNKY?
It’s all about your personal taste. Go with what you love. But consider the following: Do you have broad shoulders and a larger frame or do you have a more petite frame ? Does this impact the scale of your jewelry? If not, we suggest going with our classic “chunky size” (8-8.5 mm stones). If you like more delicate jewelry, we suggest the “mini chunky” size (8-8.5 mm stones) .However many of you love combining the two gemstone sizes. So do we!!
WHAT IS A CONNECTOR AND IS IT INCLUDED IN MY PURCHASE?
A connector is a piece of jewelry that closes your LRR necklace or bracelet. It is detached from your jewelry and may be purchased as a separate item along with your jewelry. A connector may also be known as a lock, a carabiner, a brooch… They can be vintage, antique of new. A connector will add a tad of length to your necklace (1/8”-1/2” usually) and you can add a charm or pendant to it. Our connectors are hand made, of 14k yellow gold, and must be handled with care and always fully snapped closed to keep your jewelry secure. Always close it on one side when not wearing.
Connectors are not included in your purchase! That's because we want to give you the flexibility to use your own, and be creative. So be sure to purchase one if you need one. We try to keep them in stock, but as they are custom made in small batches, they are not always available.
IF I WANT A SPECIFIC DESIGN WILL YOU MAKE IT?
We are thrilled to make you a design of our own such as a signature LRR design. We do not recreate designs of others, that includes other makers, or your own design. With 30+ years design experience, we at LRR are happy to offer our own designs only. All we need is a screen shot from our website or feed of your favorite design and desired length range within 2” (we ask for a little flexibility here) and we’ll do our own interpretation of your favorite design. Keep in mind lead time is 6-8 weeks but sometimes we can do it more quickly. Your design will be recreated by a real human being, most likely Lynn, so it will be perfectly imperfect (meaning no two stones are alike, and there may be a slight variation of your design) but as always with high quality materials and strong craftsmanship! You may of course make a request, such as “I like to have a couple pink stones toward the end”, or “I am a huge fan of blue so feel free to use a little more in my necklace”.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CUSTOM ORDER AND A REQUEST AND ARE THEY ALWAYS AVAILABLE?
A custom order for some brands means creating a design from scratch. Often it’s using your own designs or ideas. We are LRR are happy to offer our own designs in your desired length. That is our version of a request. Custom orders are not what we currently offer at LRR. But we’d love to honor a request. An example would be, “I would like a FARO necklace that is between 18-20”. For this we will offer your a proposed price. Once you accept and allow us to move forward with the process, we make the assumption you are committing to the purchase and the necklace. At this time, requests are not available through the website however you can reach out to us via email at hello@lynnrachelrose.com or via dm at @lynnrachelrose . There are some times when we are on vacation or traveling or simply too inundated with requests. At this time, they may not be available.

CAN I SLEEP AND BATHE AND SWIM IN MY LRR JEWELRY?
Nope! We ask that you ALWAYS remove your LRR jewelry to sleep, bathe, steam, workout and swim. This is really important, will keep your jewelry dry and give it the longest life.
HOW DO I TRAVEL WITH MY LRR JEWELRY AND KEEP IT SAFE FROM HARM?
Such a great duo of questions! We ask that you always move your jewelry in a circular motion, never forcing it (as that will cause the beads to rub up against each other) and never attempting to bend or fold it (this could permanently create the wire). Once in a loose coil shape, with the ends free and not cramped or bent, gently lower it into the pouch we provide you with and fold the pouch over without pushing against the necklace or bracelet. You can store this pouch in the inside pocket of your purse or backpack, holding it on your person. You can also store it in a carry-on, carefully tucked between soft material such as clothing. We ask that you keep the jewelry far from heavy metal or sharp jewelry/objects that could weigh it down or crush it. Storing your LRR jewelry on its own in a tray or flat vessel that has a soft base (example is a leather tray with felt or velvet-like material to lay the jewelry on - you can always cut your own fabric and place it on the tray). Remember these are real stones and they must be protected just as you would a newborn baby or small pet. Lovingly caring for your LRR will pay off for years to come!
WHAT IF MY NECKLACE/BRACELET GETS DAMAGED OR A STONE BREAKS? WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
Be loving and gentle ALWAYS with your LRR. Would you drop a small animal on the floor or an infant? Nope! The same for our jewelry. Dropping your jewelry, hitting it against hard surfaces, piling it on top of or underneath heavy metal, gold or silver jewelry, sharp, blunt objects or other heavy things will put your jewelry at risk of damage. The gold ends could potentially dent with harsh activity, and a stone could chip or crack, and even open up or fall apart. That’s why we kindly ask that you hold your LRR firmly so as not to drop it, always handle it over a soft surface such as a couch/sofa, a bed or a carpeted floor surface. This will help ensure that if for some reason it slips out of your hands, that it does not get damaged.
If a stone breaks open, this will heavily compromise the integrity of the jewelry, exposing the wire and putting the stones at risk of moving around more abruptly, thus putting their integrity at risk as well. In this case, your necklace or bracelet will need to be remade from scratch. That’s right, unless you want us to cut open one side to open it, replace the stone and restring it using the same necklace, in which case your LRR will be between 3-4” shorter (less costly repair), we will need to remake your jewelry for you. This is not a service we are set up to offer in large quantities purely due to the fact that we are a lean team (it’s me and my occasional fabulous helpers!).
The cost to shorten a necklace (minimum 3”) is $300 + shipping costs and the cost to remake a necklace, depending on its length, is between $450 and $550. This ONLY applies to purchases made by YOU to us. This does not apply to necklaces passed on from original owners. Lead time is 3-7 weeks depending on season. Payment is required in full at time of purchase.
MATERIALS
WHAT KIND OF STONES DO YOU USE AND WHERE ARE THEY FROM?
All LRR gemstones are custom made to order for the LRR brand. We use a mix of natural semi precious gemstones, compressed gemstones (man made stones composed of a mix of stone powders, creating a beautiful overall textured look), glass based gemstones (such as goldstone) and pearl based gemstones (such as fresh water pearl and mother of pearl). We do not use any synthetic stones. Our stones are made in Jaipur India by a small collective of makers who hold good standards and practice care in the making process. Some stones are untreated and some are “heated” a safe way to add or enhance color to the natural stone.
WHAT TYPE OF GOLD DO YOU USE?
We use 14 karat yellow gold to finish our LRR jewelry. This includes all the hardware and components that you see. There is no plating or fill in these components. However the wire that we bead onto is a supple, flexible stainless steel material that has a waxy finish on it to protect the wire. It is not gold! Otherwise it would cost a fortune and be really delicate!
DESIGN
HOW OFTEN DO YOU DESIGN NEW COLOR PALETTES?
As often as we want! We absolutely LOVE to create new designs. It’s one of Lynn’s specialties, and it’s always original! Once a new design is released and sells out, we will create another group at the next collection release. If that collection also gets a positive reaction, we will call it an LRR CLASSIC and bring it back on a fairly regular basis. Sometimes a design takes a while to catch on. Sometimes we create limited edition designs that only get released on one occasion. But the bottom line is that we’re always dreaming up new creations for you to enjoy, collect and layer!
